Born in Flint Michigan, Greg at age six started taking tap, jazz, and ballet lessons.

At the age of sixteen, he was already performing in professional theatre, choreographing musicals for area high schools and teaching dance classes in private studios.

Barani came to the United States in August He was invited to the final YAGP gala in New York, dancing with Maria Kochetkova from San Francisco Ballet.

Greg was awarded a four-year dance scholarship from Point Park College in Pittsburgh, PA and continued his education with a double major in business and dance. He also joined the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre under the direction of Nicholas Petrov, and became a soloist performing and touring with the company.

Early in his career, Greg was fortunate to have studied and performed so many of the older ballets, and mentored by Vitale Fokine, Leonide Massine, Fredrick Franklin, Ruth Page and Edward Caton, legendary artists of the famed Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo, and many other amazing teachers and chor
